City Council MeetingsThe city council meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Any change to a meeting date will be noted in the calendar. These meetings consist of public hearings, informational items, action items, resolutions, staff and budget issues, and other items. Most meetings start at 7pm, with work sessions starting at 6pm.
All meetings are open the the public with time set aside for comment and input. At the beginning of the 7pm meeting, time is set aside for any member of the audience to address the council on any issue regardless if it is on the agenda. The council can make no action on any issue not on the agenda, but, if need, can schedule the issue to be placed on a future agenda. Agendas are usually posted a week prior to a meeting. State law requires that the agenda or any amendments to an agenda be posted 24 hours prior to the meeting, though normally you can expect to see an upcoming agenda posted here a week prior to the meeting. To the left you can view prior meeting agendas and minutes and the agenda for the next upcoming meeting. Minutes from this meeting should be posted 30 to 45 days after the meeting. Agenda and minutes are available online back though 2008.
